Epidemiological Indicators

A basic principle for the development of an effective policy and the adoption of actions is having an understanding of the nature and extend of the drug problem. The EMCDDA aiming to ensure improved comparability, objectivity and reliability of data has established common criteria key epidemiological indicators and other indicators, with a view to greater uniformity of the measurement methods used by the Member States. In Cyprus, the National Focal Point of the EMCDDA, the Cyprus Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction, operates within the framework of the Cyprus Anti-drugs Council.
